Due to the many changes and rapid growth of Sibbalds over the last year, the office was closed for the day and the team joined together at Mount Cook Adventure Centre in Matlock on Wednesday 11 April 2018 for an ‘away day’.
The purpose of the day was to review the performance of the firm and the recent success as well as put into place new plans and ideas to progress and develop the business even further over the next 12 months. It was also an opportunity to wish ourselves a happy 90th birthday which is how long Sibbalds has been in practice!
Having reviewed the SWOT analysis and targets set in the last away day we were happy to note that most of the targets had been met. We also discussed pertinent points such as the forthcoming Make Tax Digital (MTD) and our plans in making clients compliant with MTD. We also discussed becoming a fully paperless office (which we have made good strides towards achieving) and discussed the various software platforms out there, to enable our working papers to be fully paperless. We aim to begin this in the summer.
Suggestions on client service and performance of the firm as a whole came from all members of staff to ensure that the business continues to provide excellent service and assist clients as their own businesses continue to grow.
During the day, to ensure we took benefit of the facilities provided to us, the firm was split into two teams with each doing archery and various team challenges. There was a lot of fun participation and great team working by all to make sure all the physical tasks were completed.
We would like to thank Mount Cook Adventure Centre who hosted the Sibbalds annual away day and for providing lunch and snacks as well as great customer service.
