We’re delighted to be celebrating our 90th year in business this year, having been formed way back in 1928 by Mr James Sibbald. As well as looking back on our proud history, this post also looks forward to the various technological developments which will revolutionize our practice.
Due to the many changes and rapid growth of Sibbalds over the last year, the office was closed for the day and the team joined together at Mount Cook Adventure Centre in Matlock on Wednesday 11 April 2018 for an ‘away day’.
As sponsors of the Services category, we now face the task of sifting through the applications to settle on a shortlist of three. We are looking forward to meeting the three shortlisted companies at a champagne and canapes evening in May.
Hari and David recently joined with other representatives from businesses who have signed up to sponsor the Derby Telegraph Business Awards for a Sponsors’ Breakfast at the University of Derby’s Enterprise Centre.
If you are an ambitious and motivated individual who would like an alternative to university, we are offering a paid apprenticeship to study for the AAT qualification (Level 4). This is for school leavers who have achieved good GCSEs and possibly A-Levels and want to start a career in Accountancy.
Sibbalds have been profiled in the Derby Telegraph as one of this year’s sponsors to the Derby Telegraph Business Awards. The article carries an interview with director, David Bowler.
We’re really excited to be the sponsor for the ‘Services’ Award Category at this year’s Derby Telegraph Business Awards. The awards aim to celebrate success, recognise achievement and highlight the innovative people and companies throughout Derbyshire with the winners being announced at the ceremony on Wednesday 13th June 2018, at The Roundhouse, Derby College.
We’re really pleased to welcome Joanne Gregory back as our Audit Manager. Joanne, who is now a Chartered Certified Accountant, originally joined Sibbalds as a trainee accountant and left to gain a wider variety of audit-related experience and work with different firms of varying sizes and across many sectors and industries.
On Friday 10th November 2017 at Symphony Hall in Birmingham, Adam Armiger received his certificate for successfully completing the Foundation Degree in Payroll Management.
This course was run at the Heart of Worcestershire College in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP). This qualification means that Adam is recognised as having the ability, skills and knowledge required to be a respected payroll professional.
8 of the Sibbalds team donned their freshly printed new football kits and dusted off their boots, to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation by taking part in a charity 5-a- side tournament at Soccerdome in Derby.
