Pay Less Tax – Summer 2024 Edition
A new HMRC helpline has been launched to help businesses affected by COVID-19.
HMRC have set up a dedicated phone helpline to support businesses and the self-employed who are worried about not being able to pay their taxes, due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The helpline number is 0800 0159 559.
Some 2,000 dedicated staff will be available to support those struggling. If you are unable to pay any outstanding tax bills HMRC have said they could agree to:
- An instalment arrangement
- Suspending debt collection proceedings
- Cancel penalties and interest where you have administrative difficulties contacting or paying HMRC immediately
The helpline will be open 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). Please call 0800 0159 559.
