I’m responsible for the marketing and development of new services at Sibbalds, which includes writing and hosting any seminars we run, drafting our email newsletters, and researching developments in technology that will help Sibbalds or its clients.
I spend a lot of my client facing time helping with business strategy and tax planning, and meet many of my clients on a monthly or quarterly basis through our BoardSmart service.
I’m a strong advocate for the use of technology and systems in business to increase efficiency and service levels, especially cloud based systems, and spend a lot of time researching developments in this area so that I can help my clients to keep ahead of the competition.

Qualifications and Experience
I’m a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser, after qualifying with a large local firm in 2004. I’ve worked at several local and regional firms since starting in accountancy in 1998, including 2 years in the accounts department at a small IT company which helped me develop my commercial skills. I joined Sibbalds in August 2008.
What I enjoy most about the role
For me, the most enjoyable part of what I do is helping business owners achieve their goals and create better businesses and better lives for themselves. This might mean reducing the number of hours they have to work, so they can see their family more, or improving cash-flow so it doesn’t keep them up at night.
Business owners are experts at what the business does – be it plumbing and heating, construction, or making widgets – and usually have had no formal training in running a business. So, it is my role to support them so they have the necessary skills on board to succeed.
Family is very important to me, and I always try and make sure that the work I do with my clients is focussed on creating a better life for them and their families.
Things I enjoy doing outside of Sibbalds
I have three children – William, Beatrice and Barnaby – so much of my time outside of the office is doings things with them. We love the outdoors, and spend a lot of time making the most of our National Trust membership!
Outside of this I am a keen Derby County fan, and play football once a week too. I enjoy keeping fit, which includes running, and CrossFit.
Something you might not know about me
I have completed two Tough Mudders races, and once met Errol Brown from Hot Chocolate whilst in Magaluf.
