Hari Vasdev
My role is to work closely with clients to provide a sounding board for their ideas as well as offering business advice, helping businesses owners to develop and execute their corporate strategy and advising on audit and accounting issues. I am also our specialist in the Academy Schools sector.
Qualifications and Experience
After studying for a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering at The University of Birmingham, I trained with an independent firm in Nottingham and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003. I then spent two years at a large regional firm, and joined a national firm in 2005 to broaden my experience and gain a better understanding of a diverse range of business clients. I joined Sibbalds on 1st February 2011.
What I enjoy most about the role
I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity in working closely with our clients and help them fulfil their potential as well as maximising profits, improve cash flow and pay the least amount of tax possible. By preparing management accounts for our clients, I find nothing more stimulating than sitting down with the clients at least once a quarter to not only discuss the numbers but also look at KPI’s specific to the business and provide advice and support in moving the business forward.
Things I enjoy doing outside of Sibbalds
Currently, my interest lies with my two children who are keeping me busy! When not pre-occupied with the children, I enjoy watching most sports and have recently taken to playing squash albeit as a novice! I also enjoy watching films, with occasional trips to the cinema.
Something you might not know about me
Whilst on holiday in Venice, my wife and I bumped into Sylvester Stallone and I plucked up the courage and asked which was his favourite Rocky film to which I received the reply “all of them”. I forgot to ask for an autograph to which my wife still reminds me!
