For many years now, we have been acting as accountants, auditors and advisors to The Ecclesbourne School in Derbyshire which is now a successful academy.
So successful is The Ecclesbourne School that the school was featured in the recent publication of The Parliamentary Review.
With specific commentary from the Prime Minister, Secretaries of State, Ministers and MPs along with comments from leading journalists, The Parliamentary Review discusses best practices in specific industries and how the leaders of industry have responded to the current economic and political environment.
The Review has a number of editions focusing on a specific government policy with the aim of raising the standard in this area. The most recent review focussed on the state of the nation’s secondary education which featured an excerpt of The Ecclesbourne School.
Since its beginnings more than 50 years ago, the school has continued to commit first class education to the children which has resulted in the school being rated as outstanding in four successive Ofsted reports. With more than 1400 children, the school has been recognised in the top 100 non-selective state schools for GCSE’s in 2012 and 2013 and within the top 10 non-selective state schools for successful Russell Group university (including Oxbridge) applications in 2012.
The school has invested in their facilities and central to this is the new sports centre. The school has an affinity to active participation in sports which encourages children in taking part in physical activity and commit to discipline and dedication, just as you would expect in an education.
The school moto is ‘integrity, tenacity and service’ and the school strives to establish and nurture abilities and talents of every child at the school and prepare them for life’s challenges and encourage them to take opportunities when they arise.
