I became part of the Sibbalds team in July 2012. Most of my time is spent completing statutory audits – including planning, fieldwork and completion. I also assist with accounts preparation and occasionally management accounts and VAT returns.
Qualifications and Experience
Upon joining Sibbalds straight from school, I worked towards the AAT qualification and completed this in September 2015. Since then, I have been studying for my professional exams to qualify as a Chartered Accountant, working towards the ACA (ICAEW) qualification. As of December 2018, I am now a qualified Chartered Accountant having successfully passed all my examinations. Since joining the firm in 2012, I have gained vital technical and accounting experience which helps me in carrying out audit and accounts work effectively.
What I enjoy most about the role
I most enjoy getting my head inside how a business works, helping to perform audit work to the highest standard.
Things I enjoy doing outside of Sibbalds
I love all things sport. I am a season ticket holder at Derby County, and I also play Sunday League and 5-a-side football. As soon as football season ends, I play cricket for my local club.
Something you might not know about me
When watching a Derby County match at Pride Park a few years ago, the ball came into the crowd and I leaped to head the ball back onto the pitch! Chants of ‘sign him up!’ came from the surrounding crowd!
