The 23 December was a day of triple celebrations as everyone joined together at Horsley Lodge to enjoy a three course lunch to end a very successful year and begin the Christmas festivities.
Once all the crackers were pulled, paper hats worn and Christmas jokes told, a mince pie full of candles was brought out and staff sang beautifully to celebrate Daniel Loverock’s 20th Birthday.
Celebrations didn’t stop there as good luck, good bye and a big thank you was said to our longest standing member of staff, Barbara, as she takes her well-earned retirement after spending 45 years at Sibbalds! Barbara joined Sibbalds soon after leaving school and has remained ever since becoming the welcoming face of Sibbalds for many years.
The team ensured Barbara was suitably rewarded as she was presented with her retirement and thank you gifts during the Christmas lunch which included vouchers for a cruise for two and a champagne breakfast.
The surprises continued into the New Year as Barbara’s family arranged a retirement party in order to celebrate all her hard work over the last 45 years. Barbara was visibly shocked when she arrived at the party to be met by family, friends and colleagues, who were all there to thank her for her many years at Sibbalds and to wish her a happy retirement.
Colleagues aren’t quite sure how they will cope after relying on Barbara’s knowledge and experience for so long but needless to say Barbara will be greatly missed. However we are certain Barbara will be popping in every so often!
