Position: Experienced Practice Bookkeeper
Salary: Will be based on experience and discussed at interview

Contract: Full time hours: 36.25 per week

We are a forward-thinking firm of accountants based in Derby with a position for an experienced practice bookkeeper to join our busy team. The role is offered on a permanent basis.
Working with a busy team with a wide variety of clients, you will take responsibility for:
- -Bookkeeping using various accounting packages including: Xero, Sage Business Cloud, Quickbooks Online and add on-apps from the marketplace
- Completing VAT returns in accordance with MTD
- Processing purchase and sales invoices, receipts and payments
- Bank reconciliations and posting bank transactions
- Posting wages journals
- Reconciling all balance sheet items including trade debtors and creditors, loans, intercompany accounts, PAYE and VAT
- Processing prepayments and accruals
- Maintaining the fixed asset register
- Ensuring work is completed in a timely manner and deadlines met
- Liaising with clients in a professional manner
- Visiting clients’ premises as required

Essential Requirements:
- Experience gained in a similar role within accountancy practice
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience of using a variety of accounting systems, including Xero, Sage and Quickbooks online
- Experience in payroll processing would be advantageous but is not essential
Experience:
Recent bookkeeping experience within a practice environment: 2 years (Required)
