8 of the Sibbalds team donned their freshly printed new football kits and dusted off their boots, to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation by taking part in a charity 5-a- side tournament at Soccerdome in Derby.
The event had originally been scheduled for June, but due to an arson attack on the Oxygen Freejumping trampoline park next door, which caused over £1m of damage to both properties, the tournament was rescheduled for the 8 November.
Lining up for team Sibbalds were David Bowler, Jay Durow, Rob Holt, Adam Armiger, Harry Cooke, Chris Holt, Dan Loverock and Edwin Morris – with a special guest appearance by Rob’s friend Gaz as goalkeeper.
Team Sibbalds battled bravely to make it through the group stages, but unfortunately were knocked out in the quarter finals against the eventual finalists.
However, we were pleased to be the highest finishing firm of accountants against some of our local competitors (who shall remain nameless ;)).
It was a really good afternoon, and although we didn’t win, it was great to see so many other local businesses taking part and helping to raise money for such a worthy cause. Details of the work that the BHF are doing in the local area, and nationally, can be found at their website, www.bhf.org.uk
A rather blurry team image!! 🙂
