Since leaving school David has worked for three firms of Chartered Accountants all of which were based in Derby. He joined R. J. Weston & Co. in 1969 and worked there for 12 years during which he was involved in a variety of work including the preparation of accounts for sole traders and limited companies to eventually managing the audits of multi million pound companies. For several years he was also heavily involved in the consolidation of the group accounts for the firm’s largest client.
David was then employed by K. A. Anderson & Co. for almost 15 years, undertaking work across the whole spectrum of accountancy services associated with a smaller firm.
In January 1997 Sibbald & Co took over that practice and since then David has mainly worked in the personal tax department and has enjoyed meeting clients and advising and assisting them on a variety of matters.
Outside of work and family David’s main interests are football and cricket. He has been a Derby County season ticket holder for over 40 years and is also a keen collector of football programmes and football and cricket cigarette cards. He is also an avid reader and a life member of Camra, enjoying the Derby Beer Festival since its inception. Contrary to popular belief he does not own an anorak, beard or sandals!
