David joined us as our Director of Corporate Services at Sibbalds on 1st August 2008.

David has trained with several firms in Derbyshire ranging from small independents to Baker Tilly, one of the worlds largest firms. David qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2004, and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in September 2009. At 30, David is one of the youngest directors in Derby, and as such offers a great deal of energy and fresh ideas to the practice.

David’s clients are all owner managed SME’s, and he specialises in providing them with proactive taxation and business development advice. David is passionate about his clients’ success, and ensures he knows their business almost as well as they do in order that his advice is tailored to their unique requirements.

David lives with his wife, Leah, and his son William who was born in November 2010. He is a keen Derby County fan, and enjoys playing and watching most sports although he admits he is a better spectator than participator! He is an avid reader, and lists Terry Pratchett and J K Rowling among his favourite authors, although he is increasingly focussing his time on business development books such as The E-Myth, Good to Great, Raving Fans etc. David also enjoys watching films, walking his dog and playing the occasional game of Texas Hold ‘em!

We operate a mailing company in Ilkeston, and moved to Sibbalds at the beginning of 2009. David immediately met with us to undertake some pre-year end tax planning, which was something we had never received before and resulted in a corporation tax saving of £15,000.
